Welcome to the website for the proposed purpose-built student accommodation scheme at 42 Hastings Road, West Ealing. We are excited to be bringing forward plans to redevelop the existing Majestic Wines premises on the site to develop a scheme of high-quality student housing.

We first consulted local residents on the proposals in 2022, and submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Ealing in 2023. Having responded to the feedback offered by local stakeholders, and engaged thoroughly with council officers, we hope that the application will be determined by Ealing’s Planning Committee in the coming months.

Since submitting our planning application, we have reduced both the height of the building and the number of student rooms, made changes to the massing and refined the design to ensure that it integrates well with existing properties on Hastings Road and Drayton Green Road.

Our proposals will help to alleviate the pressure placed on Ealing-based students in their search for accommodation and will help to free up existing housing currently being used as student accommodation so that it remains traditional family housing. The development will be targeting a 35% provision of affordable student bedspaces.

Bounded by the railway tracks and only metres from West Ealing railway station, 42 Hastings Road will form part of the new cluster of high-density buildings at this key local transport hub. The arrival of the Elizabeth Line means that residents in the building will be a short commute from their campuses across London, while the presence of new students will help to invigorate local shops and services.
